Some few advices
Wash

Create a wash using a synthetic flat brush with a little water. Vary the intensity according to the basic tonality.

Blending

Use the softness of the crayon to shade with your fingers or stumps. You will then create different tonalities of varying lightness.

Lines
Varying the effects of the lines:
- Flat edge of the crayon = broad line
- Edge of crayon = thin line.
- Flat edge of the end = continuous line.

Enhancement

The soft eraser or white crayon can be used to create highlights on darker areas:  You can soften a tone by gently rubbing the eraser over it. The white crayon gives you a lighter and cleaner line.

Blends
Soft blend of colours that allows you to create a gradation ranging from the darkest to the lightest shades of grey. You can obtain this effect by using your fingers or stumps.

Rubbing
Allows you be blend colours by overlaying them. To do this, cover the surface with a dark colour, onto which you can then apply lighter colours. This gives a wonderful contrast.

Subtle blends
Apply two colours together and they will blend. Shade off this blend with your finger: you will then get a tint of the colour obtained.

Crosshatching
Draw hatched lines using different colours. New colours will appear at the intersections of the different lines: you can then create tints and textured surfaces.

Pointillism
You can use this technique to create an "optical" blend, applying small dots by tapping the tip of the crayon on the support. Use several colours to achieve a better effect.
