SKIMA DRAWING

Skima Drawing, whose real name is Maxime Thevenet, is a hyperrealist artist born in Burgundy, France, in 1994. Passionate about drawing from an early age, he refined his technique at the Academy of Applied Arts in Dijon, where he learned to combine precision with creativity.

In 2018, he decided to devote himself entirely to his passion and pursue hyperrealism as a career.

Skima explores the power of black, a color that comes to life through his pencils, revealing an infinite range of shades. He plays with light and contrast to give his creations a unique sense of depth, blurring the line between photography and illustration. Whether creating portraits or scenes, he takes great care to convey powerful emotions through his work.

MASTERING THE ART OF BLACK

To bring his hyperrealistic drawings to life, Skima uses Conté à Paris Pierre Noire pencils and sticks, which he considers essential to his art. The velvety texture and intense pigmentation of Pierre Noire allow him to explore every shade of black, from the most subtle to the deepest. Thanks to their unique lead diameter, Skima can work with exceptional precision, creating striking contrasts and smooth gradations.

The Pierre Noire range gives him the freedom to explore different levels of light and intensity. The pencils allow him to capture the finest details, while the Pierre Noire sticks are ideal for creating rich, even backgrounds.

For an even more delicate finish, he sharpens the sticks into a fine powder, which he then applies with his fingers, adding softness and depth to his creations.

This technical mastery, combined with the exceptional qualities of Conté à Paris pencils and sticks, makes each of Skima's artworks both powerful and meticulously detailed.
