Using advice

As well as being used for sketching, the white pencil is also ideal for hatching on black paper or drawing on coloured paper.

Like the white square that is added as a background, as in painting to obtain a juice, it can be used to blend and shade.

Depending on the pressure applied to the lead, the deposit of pigment will be consistent and will shade the colour under the white.

It is the repeated application, in the round, of the colour with the white, and the pressure on the lead that will deposit the quantity of pigment, that will determine the shading. The more pressure you apply with the white, the more gradation you create.

The use of a blender or finger is recommended, especially on large areas.

Use Conté à Paris hairspray to finalise your creations.
